I woke up yesterday morning as my typical, blurry eyed Mommy Monster and it must have been bad because every single person in the family asked me if I was alright. Wow. What do I do all night long that makes me look so frightening 7 hours into it? Then I stumbled over to the computer because it’s the only thing that doesn’t ask for breakfast and I can make demands on it! Well, I was greeted by such a pleasant surprise. My submission to Craftgawker was accepted and had already driven tons of traffic to my site. You see, I’m new to blogging and besides my 5 friends, my kids and Mom, I don’t get a lot of traffic. But I was amazed at what that little bit of traffic, that tiny little submission did for me. It gave me ENERGY!
It was a strange, warming, happy energy that allowed me to go through the rest of my day to homeschool with energy, to clean the bathroom (even the toilet) with energy, to collect bugs with My Boy, clean the kitchen, play chauffeur and keep blogging. What a fruitful day.
So, for me it was easy to see the correlation between encouragement and energy. I think from now on as I look for that morning boost and the blurry eyed Mommy Monster possesses my body, I will not look for the caffeine and sugar filled things to give me energy, I will look for something encouraging, inspiring, and uplifting to get me out of the Valley of Slumber.
I guess you can learn something new about yourself even when your an old chic.
